My blog and the rest of my sites are back up again, running on new hardware.
The 2nd backup server/thumbnail processor is still waiting on some heat sinks before it can get installed but now were running on a server with next day dell support.
I’ll have more details on webthumb changes once the dns has been updated. But the biggest difference will be a full time backup API which will be available all the time and support transparent fail over.
The pear wiki, and phpdoc.org should be back as well.

Another busy week for me. I’ve finally finished my review of my experience at An Event Apart Chicago, and I will be publishing it later this week. Yes, I know it’s weeks late, but it is really long and was helpful in helping me remember what I learned. So, here are the links I found interesting last week:
- Attack Ad Generator
A political attack ad generator full jQuery goodness.
- Free Site Validator
Scan your entire website to search for validation errors. Although, when I tried it, it didn’t seem to get further than the home page. Good idea in concept at least.
- @font-face in IE: Making Web Fonts Work
Jon Tangerine discuses how the current state of @font-face embedding and how to implement it.
- Prototyping with XHTML
Really nice overview of the process of prototyping. It’s not anything we don’t already know, but it’s nice to see the entire process described in words.
- Expression Engine Developer’s Toolbox
Expression Engine seems to be the hot new thing and for good reasons. I have begun to play with a little bit, but I am trying to learn as much as possible about it.
